Stop Motion

Today in class we were working on our stop motion immigration projects. Our group has successfully built the set and all the characters and props, at least we thought so. For starters we didn’t paint the side of our filming box so when we put the camera at an angle, it would show the sides without the green paint which was a issue. Because no matter what angle we put the camera in, it still showed the sides so I had to run to the art room and get green paint and paint the sides.

Second of all, we knew that our characters can have green in their outfits because our screen is a green screen so when we edit it and put in the backgrounds the outfit will also be blended in with the background. So basically one of the characters “Melisa” had a dark emerald dress and when we were talking about the characters and props I suddenly remembered that it might blend in so we had to completely change the color of her clothes and we colored it black because it was the only color that wouldn’t completely spoil the dress by adding a new color.

We also had a issue where there were tiny doors on each side of our box that would be weird if it showed during our movie so we had to cut new cardboard and paint it green then we had to put it on top of the doors. We all felt fine in the end because even though we bumped into MANY issues, we fixed them in the quickest way and because at first we didn’t even know what to do but in the end we came up with genius ideas to fix it. Even though we were all too tired we resolved all of our issues in the end.

(Thanks for reading this!)
