The reason why we do an interview is that we get more information for our capstone and we can meet an expert on our topic. And we can learn can be an “expert” on our topic. Finding an interview was pretty hard no one was answering. And some people were saying no there to busy or just something else. But making up the questions were really fun because now I have learned stuff about the thing I was wondering and I got a lot of really good information.It went quite good but there was only one bad thing at that he did not answer my questions but i still got very good information. Overall the interview has been a very good one because I got a lot of inside information and overall it help my capstone a lot.

I learned many different things about making a capstone. Some included parts during my research and some others. I did not know that astronauts train that hard. Did you know that astronauts have to spend about 500 hours inside the world’s largest pool? And one astronaut spends 1,563 hours inside the pool. Also, I learned that making a movie is very hard the reason why I say this is because each slide had to be 6 seconds, and it was hard to fit a lot of information inside 6 seconds. I chose to do a movie because there you did not have to memorize it. This was a part of why I chose the movie over anything else, and I always wanted to make a movie, and I saw an opportunity, and I took it. The reason why I choose space training is that I really like space and I already knew I was going to do space, but what about the area? Then a friend suggested that I should do space training I thought that this was an amazing topic to research and then I was hooked and then I choose space training. Overall I learned a lot of knowledge about my topic and how hard and long astronauts have to train I thought you only just sit on a spaceship, and you would quickly arrive in space but no, I was very mistaken astronauts must do a lot more work just to sit on a spaceship let alone go to space. I also learned that each takeoff that NASA does takes a lot of money, and to be exact, the lowest launch cost was a whopping 164 million dollars. You might think this is a lot, but this is nothing compared to the most expensive one. The most expensive launch was 7.8 BILLION dollars, and it was almost a fail.

I am doing a capstone project, and I will tell you all about it. A capstone is a project where a student picks a topic, and it can be anything, then you start finding resources that will help you in the project. Now I will tell you all of the requirements for the capstone project. You have to interview an expert on your topic, and you can only have five resources and much more.

Space really interested me, so I knew that I would do space even before starting. Then came the hard part. What part about space was I going to do my capstone because space is way too broad for me to do? Then I thought about space training and space travel, but my teacher said space training is part of space travel 

I  thought about many things, but when I asked a friend, he told me an excellent inquiry question How have astronauts gone insane mentally and physically? I already knew about Lisa Nowak, so I knew that it was a superb inquiry question, and its something I really liked

It took quite a while because I had to have five, but it was a breeze at the start. Then it started to get harder and harder because I cloud not think about many good questions, and the questions I made were yes or no questions, so I had to start writing my questions all over again, but I finally got it.
So now I am doing research for my capstone, and it’s coming along really well.

 

Immigration Blog Post #2

We had to interview an immigrant who immigrated to America. So I chose my mom we also had to make an adobe cloud express video documenting the immigrant’s experience coming to America.

 

Then we had a script about how long it’s gonna be. What you guys are gonna see on the screen and what do you guys would hear. Know it was the hard part we had to take all of our immigrant’s answers and turn them into a narrative. But then I was done with that then it was the fun part of making the video. For the video, we had to add voiceovers and images. And the voiceover took way longer than it should have been sometimes there were background noises and people interrupting. We also should have included photos of the immigrants so I had to find photos which were easy then I added everything together and it was looking pretty good.

 

I learned a lot about my mom’s stuff I never knew so it was very interesting to learn about my mom’s past and how she came here. I also learned more about how to conduct an interview like you have to make questions. And even if you get a little information then you should extend their word and make it better.

So now that I have finished the project I thought it was very fun conducting an interview and making a video. I hope inside of middle school we will do something like this because I really enjoyed it.

 

Immigration Blog Post #1

At first, we learned about different immigrants like kid immigrants and adult immigrants. Also, we learned about places where many immigrants have settled, like America mostly, and I realized that Elvis island was significant to many immigrants. And Ms. Roberts told us we should interview an immigrant to learn more about settlers and how they came and their experience.

The process was relatively easy at first. Then it got more complex because it was easy to get like the first ten questions. After all, I already had them in mind. But I had to get 20 questions, and one resource that helped me was a friend. He and I started brainstorming some questions. And it took a long time but instead of having 20 ok questions we made at least 15 and we couldn’t only choose 15 but in the end, we did and it looked very good for me.

My experience was kinda hard because my mom would be very busy she had to take care 3 kids then my brother and sister came from college so it got harder and harder but one thing that was good is that my mom typed it for me I told her the questions and she typed the answers so when all the kids were at school my mom was free so she finished the interview for me. And this project went even better than I planned. Also, it was cool I learned stuff I didn’t even know about for example my mom’s old best friends and her experience coming here so even if it was hard I learned a lot of new things.

So overall even if it was hard this project so far has taught me a lot and it has been very interesting it taught me about my mother’s past and how she lived when I was not born and how she was younger and overall it was very fun.

Rube Goldberg Machine Blog Post Number Two!

A Rube Goldberg is an overly complicated machine designed to do a simple task and it’s not looking for me because I can’t find the right materials to build it so I have been waiting since I ordered the wrong thing and my deadline is coming up so it’s looking very bad for me and I still have to finish building it, videotaping it so it’s not going good. And I have to. The things have come and now I think I can be able to do this The things I have inside of my build is a wheel and axle, an inclined plane and an Inclined plane, screw. I have finished it it was very fun about is was very hard but I had a lot of fun so its all worth it.

Rube Goldberg Blog Post Number One

A Rube Goldberg is an over-complex machine that does simple tasks like popping a balloon, putting a ball in a cup, or making lemon aid. At first, I thought a wedge should open a light switch, but many people said it’s never going ever to work later on. I realized that, too, after making a sketch. I chose to pop a balloon to me. It looked the easiest of them all, so I was then designing the Rube Goldberg. I started by picking what simple machine I wanted to put inside my Rube Goldberg machine. I had tried a lot of different sketches. I finally did what I wanted. I finished my final drawing, but it wasn’t my final sketch because I messed up on it with a sharpie, and I couldn’t erase it. And to be honest, it kind of looks evil. No, I didn’t care about restarting, but it was very annoying. And also messed up a lot like there were black lines everywhere. There were a lot of rips, So I restarted another one, and I added more color on a better title, and in my opinion, it looks so much better. It seems perfect l about the end. I even added more steps so people can know what I can be going on on projects, and now I’m going to finish their building. But before I started actually building the Rube Goldberg I have to start and get all of the materials needed and that is gonna be a lot of Jenga blocks. It has 8 different steps, 4 different simple machines and it’s gonna pop a balloon so I named it The Balloon Termiater Here is the finished sketch of my Rube Goldberg machine. When I was looking at my sketch I realized that it does not work so the picture you see below is my failed one I will make a new sketch and a whole new design and start the whole thing all over again. 

Martin Luther King, Jr

I wondered what happened after Martin Luther King Jr. died. Then in November, Ms. Robert said you guys have different choices and then I heard her saying civil rights and then I choose Martin Luther King, Jr and tougher November to January I reached for so long and hard, and then I finished most of it and it was looking very good and then one by one I wrote until I was finished but that was only the first part so I timed it out to make it perfect and then I finished my script then I did it I timed everything. And then I was ready for the final part of the project recording it all after so long and so much hard work I was proud of the final result. And then I was finished and then after it, all was finished I was very happy with all of the work I did. And after all of that, I learned about mostly everything about Martin Luther King.

The Time I Got Stitches

I thought and I thought until I found something perfect, when I got stitches. Then I went to work and make a rough draft. I had to make the first draft. And then I had to put it into a google doc. I checked punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Then after a while, I was done. I added the finishing touches and I was done. I am proud of what I made. So I hope you enjoy my narrative!

Book Review Diary of a Wimpy Kid Old School

Greg is the main character in this story. Inside his house, there was his mom, dad, Rodrick, and Manny. His grandpa lived in a nursing home but the rent rose too high. Greg’s grandpa has to live with them. His grandpa chose Greg’s room to sleep in. So Greg sleeps with Manny now. Greg and his grandpa wreck the dads’ car. So as not to get in trouble, Greg went to a camp that his school was hosting. Greg tried to sneak into the girl’s camp to steal deodorant. He stole a bag but it was the old lady who was a counselor for the girls and she was really mad. There was also a rumor saying that Silas Scratch eats up children. Found out if Silas really eats the children? I highly recommend this book for kids my age because it’s very funny and interesting.
