Student Rights

A student right is what a student can do. A student has rights but your teachers and your parents can tell you what you can do. Your parents can tell you eat your vegetables or to go to bed. But they can not tell you what you have to be when you grow up. Teachers can tell you to walk silently in the halls or do this homework but can not tell you that you have to leave the school now and that you can not come back without any reason.

A student has rights until so far that it gets in the way with other students rights. For example when a student is talking too much it takes away the right of speech from the other person. When a person is teasing someone for their grade on a test it’s taking away the right of happiness from the person who is getting teased.

I think that it is very important to have rights because if we didn’t our world would feel like a prison where you are not free to speak to have privacy or to be happy. I don’t want our world to look like that. Do you? So I am pretty happy that we have rights.
