When I was finding a main inquiry question I thought, “This is challenging” and then I remembered that I also had to have 5-6 sub questions, which made it even more challenging. I thought that I was not going to finish this! But I did (at least I think so) I found some very interesting sub questions. That really got me thinking about my topic even deeper than I thought that I would. I finally came to a conclusion that my main inquiry question should be “What are the roles of therapy dogs and how do they affect those who they work with?” I settled on that question because first I had a different main inquiry question, but then I couldn’t find any sub questions to go with it, so I had to brainstorm a lot more. I ended up with that main inquiry question after talking with Mrs. Cooper for a while. Then I had to find some sub questions that were really interesting. They were:
- What are therapy dogs and what are their roles?
- What is the demand for therapy dogs in different places (hospitals, schools, homes, government, etc.)?
- How do therapy dogs help reduce stress for the people they work for?
- What are the different kinds of relationships (between therapy dogs and people) and how long do they last?
- How is a bond built between a patient and the dog?
I came up with them by asking myself, “Does my audience know about therapy dogs and what they are” and I thought, probably not. So then I also had to come up with some questions that were fairly basic but still sophisticated enough. That is how I came up with my sub questions.
I am so excited that I finally am able to move on with the Capstone process!
I like your sub-questions! I can see that you spent a lot of time on them, and you mention that you did too! Great work!
Zach, I am so excited to see how your project unfolds. You chose a very interesting topic! You also did a really nice job reflecting on the process.
I liked your sub questions and how you made them stand out. Including how you thought of your questions was unique and cool. I also liked the formatting of your post. Great Post!
