Hi! In this blog post I be talking about the laws on harvesting timber. Different states have different laws on deforestation and harvesting timber for environmental reasons. Most of these laws are about how many trees have to be left, and how many need to be replanted. The roots of the trees may be needed to hold the soil in place in some areas for safety reasons. As for the replanting rule, I dont know if its that efficient. Tress take a long time to grow, and people are chopping down trees faster than the trees are growing to replace them. How many trees are being chopped down can be changed buy the buyers (the demand + supply) so I dont know if I think the laws should change, but a lot of the power is in the hands of the people who use the end product of the timber (aka us).
