In this post, I will be sharing everything about my Rube Goldberg, including changes to my final sketch, building, testing, making the final video, and silly things that happened along the way.
It started on a day in late January when Mrs.Cooper showed us videos about cool and complex machines, that led to simple tasks. I immediately thought of books. I love to read and always carry a book with me. Close a book, easy. That is my simple task. The one problem with this was, that it was hard to find a book that would close only when the car hit it and was not so heavy that it did not close. But once I found the perfect book my life was easier.
In the beginning of my machine, a marble came out of a tube, but I found that it was not necessary so I took it out. Another reason I took it out was, it was hard to get it to work every time. In other words, it was not reliable. I thought that making little tweaks to the machine was necessary because I had to figure out what worked best. I decided to use dominos. My dog is trained to go to the bathroom outside or on a pad. When I was building, she pooped right near the dominos. I was cleaning it up when my arm hit one of the dominoes and they all came crashing down! I was so annoyed.
I thought making the WeVideo was the easiest part. All I had to do was upload the videos to Drive from my phone’s camera roll. Then I could just upload them out of Drive and put them in my video, and then add in all the features such as text and music. I had my older brother help me a little bit with the things I could not get right since he has already done this project once before.
Overall, I thought that this project was a great experience, and I hope to do something like it again soon.
