When my teacher Mrs. Cooper told us that we were going to start the narrative unit, I bounced right out of my seat! This was the year to make the best narrative ever.
The first couple of days were pretty easy. I had three main ideas. But the other two were from when I was little so I didn’t think that I would have enough detail to make a good story. I had a lot of trouble making an intro for my story. I know that you’re not supsosed to start with the intro but It was the way I started my story. Once I finally got into the story I was good. I finished with five scenes then started to mash it together. The editing and revising. I found most easy when Mrs. Cooper made comments on the Google Doc.
I wrote my narrative for my mom. She always told me to do my best. So for this, I did. My dad was always giving me tips and telling me “You can do it,” which always made me feel good. My brother and I have a very strong bond. He always told me to keep going, and gave me lots of hugs. They were the only reason that I could survive a long day of writing and then some.
I think the best way to write at home is to get your favorite snack or candy and give yourself a piece every time you finish a paragraph. Another thing you could do is give yourself a break after a certain amount of time.
I think one way that I need to improve is to add more suspense. Also I definitely need to really take my time writing and editing. But I did feel a little rushed, because all of my classmates were faster writers than me. I think that one of my strengths is my intro. I jumped right into the story.
A special thank you to Mrs. Cooper and all of my classmates.
