Tundra is a ecosystem that is cold and the highest temperature 50º. Tundra is a barren place that nothing grows.

There are about 1,700 species that can grow in the tundra. Consumers that live in tundra are geese, ducks, seals, several types of penguins, petrels, albatrosses, sheep, mountain goats, squirrels, snowy owls, bears, reindeer, wolves and caribous. Producers that live in Tundra are Moss, Lichens, Grass, Trees, Hair Grass and Plants.

The Locations that locate tundra are Russia, Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Scandinavia, Rocky Mountains, Andes, Alps, Himalayas, Snowy Mountains and the top of mountains.

Some reasons why tundra is unique is that sometimes the sun does not rise for a number of days. Another reason is that the sun does not set for a number of days each summer.

Some interesting facts about tundra is that If climate change is extreme it is hard for some species to survive. Another interesting fact about tundra is that if Arctic summers are 50 degrees or higher it melts the top permafrost layer.

Dennis Oehler Learning from our Differences

On 3/29/18 Dennis Oehler came to our school to talk about his disability. He wanted us to feel comfortable around people that have disabilities. He was gonna be a perfessional soccer player but then he got his injury and he could not play. He had to get his leg removed. He told us this story when his nephew’s class had show in tell his nephew wanted him to come in and show his class how he takes off his leg. He showed us how he removed his leg. He also showed us how he runned with his leg. I really enjoyed it.

Colonial America Book Reflection

One day my teacher told my class that we would do a colonial america book. We first picked our topic. I choose colonial girls because I wanted to see what the difference would be between now and in colonial times. Then we started to research until we felt like we had enough. After we copied down our information on index cards and glued them down into our plan. Then we started to make a draft on our google drive. After we copied our draft into our book. Then we put in pictures into our book. Then we did our glossary. After we used this special app to do our bibliography and put it into our book.

My favorite part of the project is putting the book together because it was fun to put the writing in the book. I disliked that it took a long time to complete the book. The research that I did was interesting because I did not know anything about colonial girls.

I learned about myself is that I am focused when I am researching.

If I did this project again I would not do anything different because the steps are easy and fun.

I hope you enjoy my book.

Colonial Day Blog Post

Colonial day is when you get to do things that colonial people would do back then. My grade experienced it and it was so much fun!

One of my favorite activity is stenciling. One reason why it was my favorite activity is that my class got to experience how the people in colonial times would do stenciling. Another reason why stenciling was one of my favorite activity is that my class got to make our own cards by using stencils and paint by dabbing it on. Another one of my favorite activity was Dame School. One reason why it is one of my favorite activity is that when the teacher said that we had to say a word in front of the class I got the word bee. The girls got easy words the boys got hard words. If the boys did not spell the word correctly then they would get a sign that might say idle boy or you would have to sit in the coldest place in the classroom.

One thing I learned about colonial day is that girls do a lot of easy stuff and boys do a lot of hard stuff. Another thing that I learned about colonial day is that boys and girls did not have the same toys as now.

One thing I want learn more about is why girls do easy things and boys do hard things. Another thing I want to learn more about is why you could not just brush the paint on instead of dabbing the paint on.

Colonial times is different from now because you have to wear a certain type of clothes.

Curiosity Project- Art

In the start of 4th grade my teacher told my class and I to do a curiosity project. A Curiosity Project is something your intrested on researching.

I chose art because I really love drawing and coloring and I have been taking art lessons since I was three.

Lima Beans Week Three

Overall

This week our Lima beans have grown fast. There are three Lima beans they have no air, sunlight and no sunlight. My group’s Lima beans have lots of roots. Our Lima beans look like there going to die. Lima beans can grow with out soil. The Lima beans look not so healthy as the controlled experiment. No air , sunlight and no sunlight are all different plants for example no air has no air, sunlight has sunlight and no sunlight has no sunlight.

No Air

In no air there is a little leaf. Also for no air the Lima beans are tall.

Sunlight

In sunlight there is a green stem sticking out. Also for sunlight you can really see the root hairs.

No Sunlight

For no sunlight one of the Lima beans have three leaves. Also for no sunlight there are a lot of white roots.
