Science of Magnets

Today at school, I learned about magnets! A magnet contains a force that attracts certain metals, like iron. Today, people make their own magnets. Magnets come in all sizes! Every magnet has a north pole and a south pole. A magnet is the strongest at its poles. A needle in a compass is a magnet. It always points to the north pole of Earth. When iron filings gather around a magnet is called a magnetic field. Paper clips will stick to a magnet. So will bells!

Magnets come in all shapes and sizes! Long ago, people discovered that some metal objects would even stick to a special rock! This rock is called lodestone.Magnets have different shapes. Some of the magnets names are horseshoe magnet,U-shaped magnet, block magnets, bar magnet, disk magnets, rod magnets, and more…

Magnets are very interesting things, there are more stuff for you to find out yourself!
