Field Trip to Westchester County Government

Did you know that the Westchester  County Government has 17 legislative members? They make laws for Westchester. In this blog post you will learn about how the bills are passed in Westchester County. You will also learn about my favorite thing that I did in the building they work in.

Two things  I learned about the legislative Branch of County government is how the laws are passed in Westchester and how Legislators discuss what to do about people’s wants and needs. They want to know everyone’s opinion because sometimes someone else’s opinion might be better. I learned that the opinion of people changes sometimes. Legislators debate so they know how they’re going to vote. I also learned that when discussing people, opinions will change mostly by words that can change people’s minds. We also learned that yay means yes and nay means no. This was confusing at first but after it made sense. We talked about it when we were at the committee table. The table that I was at, we all thought that schools should not ban reguler clothes because it is religious clothes that they need to put in. We talked about whether they should ban vending machines. I think that they should allow vending machines. Students will get hungry and sometimes don’t have snacks. We also learned about  what county we are in and we are in district five. The population is 18,000 residents that live in scarsdale. We also learned that the population is 967,612 inhabited in Westchester County of all e seventeen County.  We met Benjamin Boykin. We also had an assistant which I don’t remember her name so I will call her an assistant . She guided us to different places around the building. It was very fun exploring the building.

Two things that I enjoyed were being a chair and a legislator. I loved this because we never did this in the past.  The chair is a position kind of like a judge. However, you get to start the meeting and you can hear other people’s opinions that most people don’t hear. It  is very important to help people that live in Westchester County. This is why I loved being the chair because it was interesting how the job works. For example, you had a gavel, and then you can use it to start the meeting or end the meeting. A legislator is someone in the legislative branch who writes laws. I liked being a legislator because I felt like I was important in helping our community.

Now you learned about my legislative county government field trip. You know what I liked. In this blog post you learned about how the bills are passed in Westchester County. You learned about my favorite thing that I did in the building they work in. What would you like about the legislative county government? Would you hate it? Would you like it?

First Week Of 5th Grade

Did you know that the world record number meored was 4 seconds with a 28 digit number. Did you also know that Joey Chestnut was able to eat 83 hot dogs in ten minutes? In this blog, you will learn about the Four fours challenge and the Danger of a Single Story, which I enjoyed. You will also learn about what I’m looking forward to, the Board of Legislatures trip and field day.

The  two things I enjoyed doing were the Four four challenges for the first week of school and Danger of a single story. For the four four challenges we try to use only four 4 numbers that were on the side with multiplication and Division subtraction and addition to equal the number that was 20. This was challenged because most of them were not as easy as others. The reason I liked it was because of how I learned a lot from the Fours fours challenge. The Danger of a single story is about how a single story can make people only believe in that story only. The narrator says that she was guilty for believing only in one story. The reason I like it was because we can learn from her experience with it. She says that storetype are true but they are not complete.

I am looking forward to the legislative and field day this year. The reason I am looking forward to the board of the legislature trip is because it was so interesting how they make laws. The board of legislature is in charge of making laws or bills. Field day is when we eat hot dogs for lunch and face other fifth grade classes in competitions, like racing and tug of war. Field day is also about hot dogs that we have for lunch.

What is your favorite thing in fifth grade. You will also learn about what I’m looking forward to, the Board of Legislatures trip and field day. In this blog, you will learn about the Four fours challenge and the Danger of a Single Story, which I enjoyed.

Persuasive Writing Process

My Reflection on the process

The process was hard because I had to make a brain dump on pollution even though cars can also start pollution. The battery is full if it crashes  the electric car will boll up and poison the grass.but i rant soft.the hard thing was narrowing  down to where we live my new the title was responsibility we wrote until the writing process was hard because we write our persuasive writing  on three set we were ready to type it for a long time which we did for homework the size of the writing was thirteen. First, I thought of an idea that I had to be passionate about. Then, I wrote an essay. After that, I put the essay on a script. Finally, I put the script on a slideshow.

My Essay on Pollution

In my opinion kids should clean their rooms because if they don’t clean their rooms they will not be able to live on their own in the future. Kids need to have responsibilities so they don’t get spoiled, and they can teach the next generation the right thing to do.Have you ever wondered what the world would look like if kids did not have responsibility?  Kids see litter and their parents tell the kids not to pick it up. And put it into the litter box. Be good citizens by taking responsibility for your own actions.by cleaning places with people and picking up litter if you see it. This is bad because they are learning from their parents and others. Parents should teach them to clean the place and home so that kids know what to do if their parents are not there.Parents sometimes say to their children that they will clean their room. If the children don’t do this it can lead to a bad future for them and possibly a bad future for their kids. This causes litter and garbage in a lot of places and they don’t think about the consequences. Most people are not careful with litter and garbage, and most people do not realize how dirty the earth is. Kids sometimes leave litter in a park or dirt or sandwich bags or chip bags and a spray toy that causes more pollution in the world.

When kids see something like parents not cleaning their room, this influences them that they do not need to clean the house or clean their room. If  kids clean their environment, half of the world will be clean and green. Sometimes parents don’t let their kids clean places which will make other places they are in filthy. Sometimes when kids don’t feel like they want to clean their room and their parents tell them to clean their room and they don’t they will leave the litter on the road. If this goes into the water, this can kill many animals. If kids clean their room and other places animals will live for a long time. Here are some reasons why kids don’t clean their room:‘’Depression, anxiety, stress, executive functioning issues and even defiance may contribute to problems taking more responsibility for their space and their actions. So if kids don’t feel stress, maybe we can clean their room and the world.
