The first part of our new science project was to draw a sketch of the big chain reaction (rube goldberg) machine we would have to ultimately make. It would be big and complex, 8+ steps, and perform just a simple movement or two for that whole thing.
At first, I didn’t know what to make of it. I thought it was going to be one of the most pointless things I’ve ever built in this school year. And we would have to film every step and at last, make a video of that whole machine building process. Along with that, we had to make 3 blog posts. This is the first one.
At first, I sighed. I thought this was the least exciting homework I ever met in this school year. I thought I had no materials at all except a few shreds of paper and a cardboard tube. So, I looked out the window and forgot all about it.
My mom started realizing I had to do my schoolwork and helped me look for materials. My dad found out you could actually buy materials for one on Amazon, but I guessed that was just a stupid homework dodge. Me and my mom found materials and saw that we could use Legos for the whole thing.
I made half of the machine before I actually started my sketch, because I just did not want to stop. It was better than expected. Then I drew it on a piece of paper. I put down other ideas on the paper, too.
The sketch and the first blog post was finished.
