I think capstone is great. But I think the worst part is either finding an interview or memorizing my “ted talk”. I mean, I have ten resources, why do I need more information?
Finding an interview sucks. It’s really hard to look for experts in your topic, especially if your topic is a unique one. Someone in our class made our topic about how sunsets and sunrises affect theĀ weather. I think I chose a broad topic: early Earth. I found someone in AMNH in the Astrophysics division named Charles. He told he wasn’t an expert in planetary formation, and he forwarded me to two people. I forgot their names, but one of them was called Dr. Ebel. I emailed him and he told me he could do it. I emailed him a date when I could do it, and he didn’t reply for five days. I emailed him again and he replied in two minutes.
He can do it.
But then he wasn’t there, for thirty minutes. I forgot if it started at 10:00 or 10:30, or if he lived in a different time zone entirely in like Iceland or something. When I got home, he said he couldn’t do it. He sent me the answers instead, so I’m happy I didn’t have to do an interview.
