This week I made a parallel circuit. I had 4 LED lights light up really brightly by using wires, a resistor, a battery, and 4 LED lights. It worked at first, but then a wire disconnected so when I reconnected it I think I short circuited it. The LED light smelled really bad but that’s it. Next time I should probably be more careful when making ciruits.

This week I made an electroscope and I cut/stripped some wires. My electroscope didn’t work but I think it is because I might have put too much tape to stabilize the paperclip. For the wire cutting/stripping it wasn’t to hard to cut it, but it was a little hard to strip the wires.

This week I made a crank, it did work and spin. This one didn’t have to much glue so it didn’t get stuck and it spun easily. It was cool to watch the crank turn a horizontal motion into a vertical motion. I didn’t think it was so simple to do  that with just paper and glue.

This week I made a automata cam. Since this was my first time my arm the went up and down got stuck at some times. I might have glued it by accident. Next time I should probably be more careful with the glue. Also, I used a slice cutter to cut the paper. A slice cutter is very helpful when you are cutting inside the shape itself.

This week I made a truss out of carrots and toothpicks. Mine held 5 books. I think the carrots hated me because they wouldn’t balance correctly. The problem was the uneven carrots because they didn’t holdup the books to well. Next time I should probably make the carrots even so that the sides are flat.

After I saw the video for the I-beam I started to see them EVERYWHERE. My I-Beam held 10 cans of food, but my own design only held 1. My own design was very floppy which is probably why it only held one can of food. I thought the sides would  help, but I don’t think they did.
