Biggest atom

The biggest atom on the periodic table is oganesson which weighs at an atomic mass of 294. Oganesson contains of 118 electrons, 118 protons, and 176 neutrons. That’s huge compared to many smaller atoms such as silicon and nitrogen.

Smallest atom

The smallest atom on the periodic table is hydrogen which has an atomic mass of 1.008. Hydrogen contains up of 1 electron, 1 proton, and and o neutrons.

First periodic table

On the year 1869 a man by the name of Dimitriv Mendeleev invented the first ever periodic table. His periodic table had barely any elements compared to the periodic table today. However, his periodic table also left some blank spaces for new elements that he knew was going to be discovered.

Atom Size of atom comparison

As a lot of you already know, an atom is really small, and I think a good way to know the size of an atom would be to compare it to things we have seen before. For example, a penny is 24,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times bigger then the average atom. That’s a lot of zero! Did you also know that if atoms were the size of a grain of sand humans would be the size of Earth. That’s crazy!

Oganesson is big, but it is man made, elements 1-92 except for 43 and 61 are natural
