When I look at different types of plastic in my house, I see mostly 1’s, 2’s, and 5’s, as well as many without labels (plastic bags). I think that these types of plastics are used more because there is a greater demand for these cheap, lightweight, and easily disposable plastics. The thick plastics and such are more expensive and less “essential” to daily life. The widely used plastic bags are the most common and i have the most of them. They are horrible to the environment, but they are cheap. Cheapness and and the ability to throw away easily is the most common theme among plastic production, because most don’t consider the environment, only cash.
