My Capstone Experience

Have you ever do something named capston. Well I did. Is not hard you have to do meny things: research video script and present.

 

The first thing I have to do is all the research. It wasn’t easy. I have to do many things like what is the weather in Spain, what is the most typical food, monuments, places, and sports in Spain. I worked on the research for one weekend so many things went well and some things went bad. For example finding specific things was hard, but most of the research was easy. It was challenging doing all the research and also doing the video was hard. That was the hardest thing to do because . But I learned something, for example that Spain is the second most popular country by tourists destination.

The most interesting thing I learned about my topic is spain 

 

What makes Spain so special to attract so many people? Why is Spain the second most popular country among tourists? Something that was Challenging was putting all the research together to make the essay and also organizing it so it made sense. But something that was enjoyable was writing about the research and learning new things about Spain.

 

I chose the movie because I think that it is easier than the Ted Talk because you don{t have to memorize all your script.

To make the script template, I had to copy and paste the essay into the template and think about matching it up with the photos and words.I did not find that too hard.

 I think the most enjoyable part of making a movie is the music because it was fun listening to all the music that wevideo has, many types of music from rock to hip hop, but you need to find the perfect music that matches your movie.

Something that was challenging was matching the photos with the audio, also making the audio was challenging because if the photos don’t match you may have to start over, also if there was a lot of sound you have to start over until you make the audio with no sound

 I found all the pictures that I wanted to be in the video. I spent a lot of time creating the video with pictures and music. Then I recorded my voice and put it into the video. 

 

As you can see, making a capstone was really hard to do but also enjoyable. I think it is good that I did Capstone because I got to choose my topic and learn all about it. I hope you start planning your next vacation to Spain.

Immigration Interview Reflection

This project took a long time because I had to think about all of the questions and who I wanted to interview.  Then I had to change the order of the questions. 

I came up with the questions by thinking about my mother and her experience moving to New York from Spain. I used the list of possible questions that Mrs. Cooper gave us to come up with ideas. I interviewed my mother at home. It went as expected. I learned that it can be hard to type the answers while they are talking. I didn’t have to record because my mother stopped talking to give me time to type. THe most interesting thing I learned about my mother is the AMerican food she prefers. I didn’t know she liked chili so much.As you can see I work really hard to finish my interview. It took a lot of time but I finished

Have you ever written an article? Is not easy. You have to find pictures, vocabulary, an introduction , conclusion and so many things. So if you never didier you are going to see how I did.

My topic was hockey. For me it wasn’t really hard because my favorite sport is hockey. That’s why it was easy. I chose hockey because it is my favorite sport and I know a lot about it. I enjoyed looking for the images and researching websites for more information. The most challenging thing was coming up with subtopic ideas. I chose good photos and made a good introduction and conclusion.I’m most proud of all the writing and the ideas I came whith This is much harder because I had to come out with ideas, pictures and so many more things.

My Halloween day

My Halloween day. I’m going to write about my Halloween day. I hope you like it

My Halloween days at school were awesome because of the party and the parade. That was my first Halloween party. At the party there was food, music, DJ, candy, games and my friends were there. The costumes that I liked were Andrew’s, which was an inflatable chicken, another costume that I liked was Noha Sitmen’s, who was a zombie football player. I also had fun playing American football with Noah S.I also liked the DJ that played the music.

On Halloween morning we had the school parade. What I liked about the parade were the scary and non-scary costumes. I also liked the class photo, it’s a good memory. 

After school I went to a party and the best part was the trick or treat because my friends from Spain came. First we ran for the first two five minutes, but then we got tired and walked. We took a lot of candy. One house gave you a lot of candy, but a lot. And another gave you baseball and American football cards. My favorite candy is m&m. I like the decoration of the hauses. Then we went home and the first thing we did was count how many candies each person had. I had like two hundred and something and when we finished counting them we changed them. For example, if someone’s favorite is the twix and mine is the m&m, then I give him the twix and he gives me the m&m.

.It was a very good experience because I got a lot of candy and went with my friends. There’s nothing better than friends and candy

The Challenge

The best Heathcote tour in the world.I’m going to write about my trip to Bedford Ropes Course, the challenges, what I learned, and teamwork. This was my day.

My three favorite courses at the Bedford Ropes Course were Cable Wire Walk, the Rope Swing Challenge and the “Indiana Jones” Challenge.  The Cable Wire Walk was fun because we all worked together.  Charlie helped me a lot. In a good way It was challenging. It was difficult not to fall because if you fell you had to start again and that’s not cool. But if you think about it that way it’s more fun it’s more difficult and that’s what I like about it being difficult otherwise it’s boring. It was very funny. The Rope Swing Challenge was fun because It was very fun to swing on the rope and jump to the base. It was not very easy but it was fun.I Also liked working as a team, it was very fun. The third thing is the “Indiana Jones” Challenge. At first it was easy for me and I passed it the first time, but then it became more difficult, it took me a long time to get through it, I tried many different ways,all of them, with my belly, sitting, standing.I was starting to get more and more tired, but I kept trying, crouching, all of them, until one came out later.That one it was sitting. I was praoud and happy. 

I have learned from myself that not everything was going to be done the first time, and there were things that did not work out the first or the second time and many more attempts. I have also learned that you have to be patient and wait. Then I thought the classmate was good, it wasn’t bad, it was good.Timwork. I think we work pretty well as a team. We help each other. It was fun to do teamwork and it is also an opportunity to meet new people from the other class or this one. I think it is a good place to practice teamwork. Because that is what it is about, above all, doing teamwork.

In conclusion, everything was super fun because of the teamwork, because of the ideas that people had, some things worked, some things didn’t, but it was fun that they shared them. Everything was super fun. I loved it. I hope to go to town one day with my family or friends but I hope to go to town. Well, this has been my excursion to Bedford Ropes Course.

 

Home of the Brave

In Home of the Brave by Katherine Applegate, Kek is a boy who is a refugee from Sudan and moves to Minnesota because of a war in sudan.

Windows are opportunities to learn about people.Mirrors are when you see the same in yourself as the character.

One way Kek’s life has been a window for me is to learn that Minnesota is very different from Kek, like how cold and snowy it is.For example an page 4 Kek says “this cold is like claws on my skin!”The cold is painful.He also says “It burns my eyes!” about the cold.

Another way Kek’s life has been a window for me is Refugees escape dangerous places or situations, like war or violence. For example, his father and brother died in the war and his mother is still alive but is missing. He has seen a lot of violence in his home country.

One way Kek’s life is a Mirror for me is that he had to learn a new language and that’s hard.

I learned that Minnesota is hard for Kek because it is cold, he is alone and he has to make new friends. I realize that life is not easy in other countries.

If you meet someone who is different from you, like a different language,  or different clothes, we should be friendly, nice and try to help them.
