Hi everyone! In today’s blog post I will be telling you what I’ve done in week 4 of technology.
This week we designed our woodworking project proposals. We will be using balsa wood among other materials to create our projects. We first wrote out along with a little picture our project proposals in Sketchbook, like I did, paper, Notability, etc. Next we went back in and added detail. For example, the exact measurements and labeling directly on the picture. Finally we “placed our order”. By this I mean that we said how many pieces of balsa wood we would need, if we would need hinges, other hardware, etc. This also includes going into full detail about our project. I am going to be making a mini compact mirror. I originally wanted the shape to be a heart, but I then realized that it would be too complicated to make that with our materials so I have now changed it to a circle. I will attach a photo of my final project proposal below. Today, 12/11, we started to use TinkerCad to bring our projects to life. TinkerCad is a platform that allows you to 3D design stuff. To be exact, we started learning how to use the platform yesterday, but we actually designed on TinkerCad today. I will link the website down below.
Overall, this is super fun so far and I am super excited to start making my mini compact mirror in class soon! Thanks for taking the time to read my post!
