Summary :

Today, woman in Saudi Arabia, are all going to try to get their driver’s license on June 24. For a long time woman in Saudi Arabia were not allowed to drive. Finally they will be taking the test so they could drive. Right now ten women have their driver’s license. Slowly more and more people are getting theirs too. The government in Saudi Arabia says that another 2,000 people can earn their license by next week.

Many women and men were protesting about this ban. Before, women would have to ask their husband or their friend that’s a male so they could go around places. Also if the government allows women to drive, it would make they women in Saudi Arabia feel much more free, like they can make their own decisions and the don’t have to ask anyone if it was right or not.If they get their driver’s license they would not have to wait for a taxi or an uber or anything that would take a lot of time to go to work, or anyplace that they need to go in a amount of time.

Tahani Aldosemani got her license on Monday, and she says,” Driving for women is not just about driving a car.” It enhances strength of character, self-confidence, and decision-making skills.” Women across the Middle Eastern side have been taking driving lessons. Some women are trying to become a uber driver once they get their license.

Prince Mohammad bin Salman is the next one to become king. He is the one that is trying to get rid of this ban. He hopes that getting rid of the ban will be a good idea. And it will change Saudi Arabia!
