Making Saturing people

In technology today we had a goal to make a saturning people. They’re made out of wires. Mr. Calvert said that we have to have them stand. I am going to make a basketball guy with a 3-D basketball. First we had to cut one wire into a 5 inch wire and one wire to a inch and a half wire. Then we had to bend half of the 5 inch wire around a pencil. After that we made the legs by wrapping one of the half’s around the other half. And then, I finished my skinny stick wire figure. Then I connected the arms. Then I was done.

BATTERIES (Post #7)

In Technology with Mr. Calvert today we learned about Batteries. I learned that a battery is made out of two sections: The positive side and the negative side. But the Negative side really wants too get to the positive side. So, you grab a circuit and connect one side to the positive side and the other side of the circuit to the negative side.  When their is no more pull in the battery that means it is dead. Batteries need electrons. To make one lightbulb light up. That is what I learned.

RULERS (Post #6)

In technology we learned about rulers. Mr. Calvert told us we are measuring in the standard system because that’s what America uses to measure things. He gave us a practice sheet that was easy for me and we had to measure shapes and numbers. I got all my answers right. I feel confident about this unit.

The Breakout Activity (Post #2)

In technology today we played a game called “breakout EDU”. Mr. Calvert divided the class into two teams and the teams had to work together to open the boxes using codes for the locks. Mr. Calvert wanted us to get the key for the safety goggles so we can be safe in class. Mr. Calvert spread clues around the room. We had 35 minutes to open the box. Luckily my team completed the task and got the key to open the door to the safety goggles.

What I learned In Technoloy (post #5)

In Technololgy class today I learned two prime things about atoms. The topic we are learning is atoms. So back to the two prime things. I learned that a guy named Ernest Rutherford discovered radioactive elements of an atom. He made an alpha particle ray. And he discovered the nucleus and that it has neutrons and protons in it. The other main thing is about a game named Niels Bohr who lived from 1885 to 1962 and he helped Jews get away from the Germans and he made the Planetary Model. He also worked with Ernest Rutherford. That’s is what I learned.

Magnet Task (post #4)

In tech today every table was assigned two magnets and we had to use one of the magnets to push the other magnet around without them getting attached. Every single time the magnets got stuck together we had to un attach the magnets. But it hurts. Every single time the magnets stuck to each other my finger got stuck in between them. And that is your sneak peak in the tech classroom

In the Tech Classroom (post #2)

In Technology class today we played a game called Breakout edu. The point of the game was to figure out the combinations on the locks (that were locked on to the boxes) and open the boxes up for the key to the safety guggles. Their were two teams: The left side of the room was a team and the right side of the room was a team. We had around 35 minutes to complete the task. Fortunately my team completed the task but unfortunately the other team finished first. 🙂

The Soldering Iron (post #1)

In technology, we learned about the soldering iron. The soldering iron is incredible. The soldering iron can heat up to 850 degrees fahrenheit. Scientist use Soldering Irons to melt other metals to combine or joint to objects. The soldering iron is a hand tool. It will take a few minutes to get really hot. It runs by passing an electric current through it. Ernst Sachs created it and it was first used by  5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia. That is why the soldering iron is amazing.
