Persuasive Writing

Essay

Everyone has a best friend. Best friends are special to our lives because they are the people we can share secrets with, enjoy spending time with and will always be there when you need them. You might be thinking, “are best friends really that important? What about family?” Family is just as special but the difference is you get to pick your best friend! You select the person or people that you want in your life, you can’t do that with family.

One reason that everyone should appreciate their best friend is because they are the one person you can truly share secrets with. I have a best friend named Eva, I tell her everything! One time I told her something that I didn’t want anyone to know. When someone else asked her about it she responded with, “that’s none of your business.” That is a true friend that you can trust. People like Eva should be appreciated all the time for keeping our secrets safe.

Another reason everyone should appreciate their best friend is because they are fun to be around and people we want to have in our life. For example, whenever I am with Eva we always have a great time! We laugh, we play and we have inside jokes together. Best friends are there to have fun with us and they are people that we chose to have in our life.

The last reason is that best friends will always be there for you when you most need them. They keep us company when we are sad and celebrate us when we are happy. You might be wondering, “well my mom can keep me company when I’m sad? Why does my best friend have to?” The truth is, we might not always want to share things with our parents. For example, your mom says, “Go do your chores!” I would not go to my mom and talk about it with her. I would need to vent to someone else. I would go and talk about it to my best friend and tell her how my mom is being so annoying and how I don’t want to do my chores. Best friends will always be there when you need them most.

Do you have a best friend? Well if you do, hold on tight and don’t lose them because best friends will always be an important and special part of your life. And if you’re lucky like me, you’ll get a friend like Eva!

Reflection

I choose the topic everyone should appreciate their best friends because best friends don’t get appreciated often when they do a lot for you every day. One thing I enjoyed was getting to express what my best friend (Eva) does everyday for me and how good I feel inside when she does it. Lastly one thing that was difficult to write was my introduction because all I could think about was what to write for my reasons so I had to keep thinking how i would or could start of my story with an introduction but what was hard about that was their were so many ways or options that I could start off my story.

My Expert Book: Babysitting

I came up with this idea because I have been babysat my whole life and I thought that from the experience that I see my nanny doing every single day I had already learned from that until I started babysitting for a family and got even more experience. The process was a little bit hard for me because I had to come up with a lot of ideas and I was starting to run out. I think with the chapters after I knew what they were about I got a hang of it and was able to do it easily. The organizing got a little challenging because I did not really know what to put where and started getting a little bit confused. I think my favorite part was the third chapter because, it was really good and I thought a lot of people got inspired by it even though it was the shortest. I feel really good with the final product of my story, I think it was my longest and best story I have wrote in my whole entire life.

This is my expert book.

Thanks you for reading.

Personal Narrative-The Zoo

“OMG is that an elephant? It’s so cute!” I squealed as we walked into the Bronx Zoo. “ Can I feed it? Please, please?!” I begged my mom.

“Honey, sorry t we are not allowed to feed elephants here,” mom said back.

“Awwww, but I wanted to feed them!” I said.

We then continued on to the other exhibits. As we walked through the zoo, I heard the loud roar of the lions up ahead. “I wonder what they’re so angry about,” I thought to myself as we approached their home.

“Why don’t we move on?” I said to mom, scared of the lion staring back at me. So we did.

“Are those flamingos!” My mouth flung open. “Wow, they’re so balanced.” I said, not looking away. “I love flamingos!“ I said with all of my excitement.

Then we moved on.

“Monkeys!” I yelled.

“Sweetheart, are you gonna be excited for every single thing we see?” Mom asked.

“Well?” I thought to myself. “Yeah pretty much,” I said with a giggle. “Now mom, did we bring the bananas?”

“Yes, but I told you earlier that we can’t feed them.” mom replied.

“Ugh, why not?” I said, dropping my shoulders.

“You’ll get us kicked out,” mom whispered.

Next we headed to the giraffes. That’s when everything changed!

“Can I keep one please, please, please?!” I begged.

“No, of course not!” said mom as she walked away.

“Ugh,” I groaned.

“Hmmmm…….” I thought to myself. “Aha! I know. I could pick the lock, budge one out and give it the GPS for the way home!” My plan will definitely work. I quickly and quietly got my hair clip and started to pick the lock, until………

“Ahh, what was that! Oh no!” I said as I slowly turned around and saw the guard and my mom.

“What were you doing there, miss?” asked the guard.

“Ummm,” I chuckled. “Nothing.”

“You must leave now!” screamed the guard.

“She’s just a ki-.” Mom said.

“NOW!” the guard interrupted.

We bursted out laughing while running through the door. “Now,” said mom. “Don’t pick the lock of the car door.” I laughed even harder.

“Until next time,” I yelled.
