Personal Narrative-The Zoo

“OMG is that an elephant? It’s so cute!” I squealed as we walked into the Bronx Zoo. “ Can I feed it? Please, please?!” I begged my mom.

“Honey, sorry t we are not allowed to feed elephants here,” mom said back.

“Awwww, but I wanted to feed them!” I said.

We then continued on to the other exhibits. As we walked through the zoo, I heard the loud roar of the lions up ahead. “I wonder what they’re so angry about,” I thought to myself as we approached their home.

“Why don’t we move on?” I said to mom, scared of the lion staring back at me. So we did.

“Are those flamingos!” My mouth flung open. “Wow, they’re so balanced.” I said, not looking away. “I love flamingos!“ I said with all of my excitement.

Then we moved on.

“Monkeys!” I yelled.

“Sweetheart, are you gonna be excited for every single thing we see?” Mom asked.

“Well?” I thought to myself. “Yeah pretty much,” I said with a giggle. “Now mom, did we bring the bananas?”

“Yes, but I told you earlier that we can’t feed them.” mom replied.

“Ugh, why not?” I said, dropping my shoulders.

“You’ll get us kicked out,” mom whispered.

Next we headed to the giraffes. That’s when everything changed!

“Can I keep one please, please, please?!” I begged.

“No, of course not!” said mom as she walked away.

“Ugh,” I groaned.

“Hmmmm…….” I thought to myself. “Aha! I know. I could pick the lock, budge one out and give it the GPS for the way home!” My plan will definitely work. I quickly and quietly got my hair clip and started to pick the lock, until………

“Ahh, what was that! Oh no!” I said as I slowly turned around and saw the guard and my mom.

“What were you doing there, miss?” asked the guard.

“Ummm,” I chuckled. “Nothing.”

“You must leave now!” screamed the guard.

“She’s just a ki-.” Mom said.

“NOW!” the guard interrupted.

We bursted out laughing while running through the door. “Now,” said mom. “Don’t pick the lock of the car door.” I laughed even harder.

“Until next time,” I yelled.
