This week we are also learning about I-beams and how to make them.

I-beams are a very common structure that are usually used sand built to support the weight of something. You probably don’t even realize but there are I-beams  everywhere.

We had to make are own I-beams and test them with garbage bags on Flipgrid.

This week we are learning to make trusses with carrots and tooth picks.

The goal is to try to stack as many heavy things on top of the truss as you can before it breaks.

Something i learned was that when using a square shape the tooth picks slant and detach from the carrots. So i think the best shape to make is a rectangle or a Triangle/Pyramid.

This week we learned about automatons and how they function/work and what they are used for.

I think it’s really cool how someone can create a human like machine with gears , metal and control that serves a real life purpose.
