Vote for me

Hi, I’m Ryan . I am running for class president currently. I’m going to make really good changes to the class, so Vote for me!

My first change I’m doing is that kids can have extra recess on fridays only if they behave so teachers can teach

My second change is that kids in grades pre k to 5rd grade get free hot lunch because I don’t want parents to be extremely busy like making lunches, driving their kids to school, and picking them up. Also why not to the other grades is their responsible

You should vote for me because I’ll make good changes to the school and other things.

My First Week Of School

Ever wonder what is a fifth grader’s first week of school and what do they do? Well probably. Anyway, in this blog post you will learn about my first week of fifth grade and more.

On the first week of school my class and I drew locker signs and made identity maps, the bad news is that we had to do homework on the first day why!? Anyway, the rest of the week was great, the class was respectful and quiet! Also my friends are in my class! About the work, locker signs were fun, also I finished my locker sign on the first day! We did a project and one part we did self portraits and mine turned out so good! Another part was the quote mine was about being smart. For example I had a ton of adjectives to describe me. Last year my class was making difference projects and when we were making the self portrait, I messed up so bad! I improved my skills! I said to myself “this looks really good.” Also, identity maps were fun too! And if you guessed, I didn’t finish on the first day.

My class are doing a lot of field trips,  like the board of legislators, curling and much, much more. In October we’re doing a Halloween party and I’m excited because, I hope there’s a lot of candy.  I am excited for the science unit of space because, it’s space and I like space, the capstone project because, I’ll do a great job, and the writing unit on comics because, I really like making comics.

Overall, I had a really good first week of school for 5th grade, like my locker sign and identity map. Do you remember your first week of school? If so, did you enjoy it like I did?

Board of Legislators Reflection

Ever wonder what is it like to go to the Board of Legislators, and experience being a legislator by having two mock meetings? Well, you’ll learn my experience of my three favorite things I did on my trip to the Board of Legislators and two very interesting things I learned (in my opinion)

At the field trip to the Board of Legislatures, I had three favorite moments that I had were the conference room, the chamber, and getting certificates. Moreover, in the conference room my group talked about wearing school uniforms and the majority said no.

Afterwards, in the chamber, the class voted on an item which is banning junk food in the school  (it’s a mock vote) and we get to speak in the microphones! Lastly, when we got our certificates we also got golden apple pins (the ones that you wear on your shirt). It was like a week before I showed my mom and she showed me her certificates that she got from the legislators and she had one like mine but they spelt my moms name wrong, I thought why!?

When I was on my trip I learned a lot of things but my most interesting fact in my opinion is there were more than 1.5 m people in Westchester because I was surprised when I learned that, I thought there are only about 100,000 people in Westchester. Another fact that I found out was there were something called clerks they make sure everyone was there like when you’re in school the teacher calls attendance, they basically do that. Overall I learned a ton of facts but those two were my favorite facts.

In conclusion you now know about my experience to the Board of Legislators and what I learned. Like doing a mock vote and meating a real legislator. If you went to the Board of Legislators what would be your top three favorite parts about the Board of Legislators?

Follow Your Heart

Always follow your heart because you should decide who you are.  It’s  important to follow your heart because you’re special. Follow your heart in challenging things like homework so you can do it.

One reason is to always follow your heart is that you should decide who you are. So one day when I was minding my own business my brother forced me to get him a snack, and I said “…”. Then he said “10, 9, 8…”.  I didn’t listen and that moment made me mad. You should decide who you are and not other people. Always follow your heart because you should pick who you are. When you pick a job, that’s who you are. Here are some jobs you can be an engineer, builder, cop, and artist. Sometimes people don’t realize that other people don’t like their jobs because other people pick their jobs.

Always follow your heart when your mean siblings telling you that you’ll be a poor paying custodian, just ignore them because they’re talking about themselves. In the future, you’re going to be kind and amazing!

Legos are the best toys in the World!

It was challenging to pick a topic because there were so many to choose from but the rest was easy. For example, choosing the pictures to go with the slides was easy. I used Google to find pictures. The recording was easy because Mr. Mitchell set me up with a microphone so nobody could interrupt. Overall, the process of writing the essay was hard but it was worth it.
