Ignite Talk Reflection

What’s up guys? Who is gonna watch my ignite presentation on Youtube. My project was about tornadoes. I read about different types of tornadoes such as the famous tornado in 1912 ,the Joplin tornado in 2011 and I also heard about tornadoes in general.

Tornadoes are very dangerous to our environment! There is a lot of wind. I liked the presentation because I will be on Youtube. I struggled with the results because I thought I will get 0 views, instead I got 30 views. I worked with Milo who helped me get 30 views higher than my class sweet! Overall I am proud of my career!

Persuasive Writing Process

My Reflection On The Process

I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to talk about when I first heard that we had to write a persuasive essay. I picked a topic about animals since animals mean a lot to me and everyone should treat animals with respect. The writing was not easy but the research was very fun. I felt it was easy to find a lot of information and pictures to go with the text. I learned a lot from doing this as a slideshow that I can use for more projects in the future.

My Essay on Poaching

PERSUASIVE WRITING

In my opinion, people are not doing enough to protect animals. People do a lot of bad things to animals like poaching, testing products on them and destroying their homes.

People called poachers are illegal hunters and they kill animals to earn money. Poachers kill elephants for their tusks. Then they use them for ivory, piano keys, jewelry and sculptures. People also kill whales for the blubber. They use blubber to make oil and soap. Sometimes people kill animals for fun. They just kill them so they can bring home so-called trophies and display them in their homes. This is so wrong and people don’t realize that this will lead to a lot of animals being orphans because they lose their parents. Also, some animals will eventually become extinct and it will mess up the food chain for the whole world!!

People test a lot of things on animals that hurt their eyes and skin. It causes the animals a lot of pain. They test different things on animals, like hair products, make up, soaps and lotions. This can cause painful skin burns. Also, a lot of medications are being tested on animals to make sure it is safe for humans.

People are destroying animal habitats all around the world. They are cutting down all the trees and then the animals will not have a safe place to live. People also pollute water by throwing garbage with chemicals into it. Animals also die by forest fires. People are not careful of their campfires and burn down forests with them

People smoke cigarettes and cigars and that pollutes our air, this air is dangerous for humans and animals to breathe in.

Global warming is melting icebergs which is forcing the animals to land away from their home and food supply like polar bears and penguins. This is causing animals to die and possibly lead to extinction

Infographic on Jamaica

I chose Jamaica because it’s my favorite country.  It is my favorite country because it is the third largest of all the Caribbean Islands. I really like the many waterfalls they are so pretty!  The best part about working on my infographic was that I was able to use different pictures and Clip Art. I would like to go and visit Jamaica someday.

My Expert Book: Elephants

My book is about elephants. I came up with my idea because of my love for elephants and I wanted to know more about why people are killing them. I know a lot about elephants and wanted to share that information with my friends and family so we can protect elephants from poachers.

I found the section on “ About the Author” difficult, because I had to talk all about myself. I didn’t like that because I didn’t have much to say as I don’t like talking about myself.

My favorite part of writing is adding pictures

This is my expert book.
