Forces of Flight

A few days ago we made paper airplanes, we tested them, and then made better versions off of our results. The forces of flight are thrust, lift, drag, and gravity. Thrust is what gives the plane the power to go forward, so when you are flying a paper airplane, your arm is the power. Lift is the air moving under and over the wings, which creates an upward lift on the plane. Drag is the air pushing back at the plane, slowing it down, creating drag. Gravity pulls the plane down to earth. My paper airplane was not very good, it wouldn’t fly straight it would fly for a very short period of time. When we do our wood planes, I want to make a thinner and pointed front plane so that it would cut through the air better.
