For these few weeks, we are working on our own machines, or automata. We each have a separate design, and we are making them out of cardboard. The tools in the room are really nice. For example, we have a load of hot glue guns, and my favorite part is the laser cutter. Every cut is so clean, and I really like hearing the crackles as Mr. Calvert takes it out of the cutter!

This class we are working on the boxes for our automata, and we each get separate pieces, and we use hot glue guns to put them together.

For my idea, I’m going for a kind of mallet instrument, and my cams are in weird shapes to allow mallets to strike the instrument on top of the box. I really want to start building, because my build is really complex.
