Grade 7 Technology #4 – Tinkercad

Yesterday, I used Tinkercad to create my model house.

Tinkercad is a 3-D modeling program that is pretty easy to use. I have used it before a long time ago, but learning it again was kind of like a review. It was really easy to make the house in Tinkercad, and I really enjoyed making it. The only problems I had were specifying the lengths of the pieces of wood, because I wanted them to connect well. I made the model house on the computer, which is a lot easier than on the iPad, because of the keyboard and a bigger screen. Making the house was simple, and I only needed to use basic tools, such as scaling things and rotating them. The part that was the most time consuming was making the rabbet joints fit, because I need to copy a side to double it up, make the side that I copied smaller, so the other walls could fit. I did this with all the sides, and it ended up fine. I had to change the scale of some things to make it fit better, because the original drawing made the house look kind of long, and I didn’t like the look of that.
