Pretty recently, after school, Jason and Felix, who are my friends, we went to a Google building in New York City. When I got there, I thought it was really cool, and the building was really old fashioned, but the inside was as modern as most of the buildings today. Inside, there were google logos everywhere, and everything was clean and organized. Also, there was a wall full of buttons that had lights behind them, and they would display all kinds of cool colors, and they would sometimes show the google logo!
Inside the building, it was even more impressive. Each cafeteria had a theme, like LEGOs, and they gave free food, free computers, and even free phones! They also had a lot of places for the workers to have breaks, like a game room which was like a tiny arcade. They had fun things to do which were about famous things, like a few Harry potter pillows or something similar to that. We also followed someone who was a friend of Felix’s mom, who led us through many places. We also did a tiny interview and I also got completely different feedback than from the real interview.
We had dinner there, and when we were eating, we had a conversation about what our tour guide did at Google. She said she works on something called Google Geo, which had to do with Google Maps and all the mapping and satellite things. I thought it maybe could do with some Waymo self driving cars, but that wasn’t her job.
Still, I learned a lot about some self driving cars, and the Google building was extremely cool!
