Technology #8 – Electricity

In the past few online lessons, we learned about hOw batteries make electricity. The way a battery works is so ingenious, so I thought it was super ingenious.

The way a battery works is that it has three parts of a battery, which are usually copper ions with two less electrons, a boundary between the first and third parts, and some zinc atoms. The special thing about zinc is that it doesn’t mind getting its atoms taken, so when a battery is connected to a circuit, the electrons go through the wire in the circuit and goes into the very positively charged copper atom area, making the copper atoms regular again. The movement of the electrons is the electricity that powers everything in our homes.

I thought this was super interesting, and I thought that when a battery dies, it is probably when the zinc runs out of electrons to sent to the copper atoms.
