Travel Guide: Washington D.C.

Welcome to my new blog series Travel Guide! Learn all about the world’s famous countries, states, and cities. We start with Washington D.C., the United States capital. D.C. is home to spectacular memorials and monuments, amazing food, wonderful museums, powerful political buildings, and the White House, where the current president lives! There is so much too do and see in Washington D.C.!

I recommend taking a private tour, just you and family or a couple of friends. Make sure to stop by the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial,  Franklin Roosevelt Memorial and Lincoln Memorial. All of these famous memorials and monuments you can find on the National Mall. When it comes to food, I would definitely recommend Founding Farmers, an all organic restaurant located on 1924 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, D.C. 20006. I ate there with my family, and I had a grilled cheese with bacon, and tomato soup. That was the best meal I have ever had. They used delicious Multigrain bread, fresh bacon, and creamy cheese that was made up of white cheddar, gruyere, muenster, and a secret ingredient: mayo! That was dreamy. It was served with a mouthwatering bowl of tomato soup. That was fantastic for the entire family, and they had an endless menu! Make sure to stop by on your trip! Next up, the White House. If you would like to get a tour of the White House, you must book it months in advance, and know that you will not get to see the very important rooms. Try to get a tour of the Capital building. That is a very cool activity as well, and great for the whole family, too. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (One building where money is made) is cool as well. But if you are looking for an interactive activity, do the hour long activity at the Spy Museum. You go on a mission as a spy, and you must save the world from enemies. Also go to the endless Newseum, with hours of fun! With six levels of enjoyment, you make your way down from the top. And make sure you bring your camera, because the Newseum has a wonderful view of D.C. on the sixth floor. Be sure to stop by the presidential election section, the Berlin Wall section, the 9/11 section, the Sit-In movement section, the presidential dogs section if you love dogs, and the huge shop on the way out. Those of just a few sections of the massive Newseum! I hope this guide helped you with your trip to Washington D.C.! Enjoy!
