Bord of Legislators Reflection

Thump! You hear a hammer, it’s the cheerman hitting the gavel you walk into the room and see a giant room with the cheerman on a big desk. You think to yourself this is the real deal. I’m on the Board of Legislators.

Some of my favorite things we did at the field trip to the board of legislators is the conference room, the chamber and when we met Benjamin boykin. First we went into a conference room and there were two chairmen. I was one of them. This is so cool I thought to myself and we got to call on people for a case, the case was if kids should wear uniforms or not, both tables got no as their answer. After that we met Benjamin Boykin. Consequently he talked to us about how a kid made a law about vaping and kids can make an impact. Then we went into a big room called a chamber and we used microphones to talk when the cheerman josh called on us. I didn’t realize how much fun I was going to have.

In conclusion this field trip was really fun and encouraged me to be a legislator and part of the government. If you go to  the Board of Legislators I wonder if you would be encouraged to be a legislator too.

My last year

Do you remember the first day of fifth grade? Were you excited, were you nervous, or even both? I’m so excited for the rest of fifth grade and all the events in it because there have already been so many cool activities so far, and it’s only the second week! I’m looking forward to seeing what we’re going to do the rest of the year.

Our first weeks of school have been doing a lot of fun projects like a self portrait and we looked for quotes on the internet and then put them together on a piece of paper and also an identity map which is things about ourselves and we draw them on paper and we made separate parts for them and then color them and tape it to the wall. My favorite was the index card challenge and we had to build a card tower. I was in table one and we might have lost but it was still very fun. At one point we were in the lead but then the bottom piece fell and then and then Elle tried to fix it but the whole thing fell down.In math we’ve been doing a lot of volume area length width and height so we are using rectangular prisms cubes and also composite figures . In social studies we’ve been learning about the three branches like the legislative branch, the judicial branch and the executive branch.

In my grade I am looking forward to a lot of things, one thing I’m looking forward to is the halloween party because i get to hang out in my costume and play games. Another thing I’m looking forward to is the volleyball game because it’s probably fun to play sports against the teachers. I’m also looking forward to hot dog field day because I love hotdogs and I also love fields so it’s perfect and moving up is probably going to be fun because it’s my last day at heathcote and I’m going to middle school.

In conclusion we have done a lot of cool things and there will be many to come in my last year at Heathcote and then we are going to middle school. Specifically, I really enjoyed the self portrait and I’m really looking forward to the halloween party. What was your favorite thing you have done this year?

Ignite Talk Reflection

My ignite was really fun because I got to research tsunamis and it wasn’t just that I also got to memorize even thou it was fun it was super hard we had to memorize 7 slides each was 15 seconds and the hole thing was 1:45 and it wasn’t just that be for that we had to research the hole 7 slides that we made into a script that we put into slides

we all had to do it in less then a 3 weeks to do it. it was cool and we were the only class that didn’t do it in groups at first I wanted to have a group but now i’m happy we did it independently.

also i have always heard that tsunamis were just some big waves but they are more they are waves that can kill thousands of people.

Persuasive Writing

Essay

Imagine you’re a tree and you’re giving oxygen to people so they can breathe but one day someone comes over to you and just cuts you down. How would you feel? Probably not so good. Why do we cut down trees? What is the purpose? Well, I think it is purposeless and you might think I’m wrong but trees give us life– we shouldn’t be cutting them down and killing innocent animals at the same time. We MUST treat trees better!

One reason why we shouldn’t cut down trees is because it reduces oxygen in the world and harms the environment. When we cut down trees, we are losing oxygen and causing climate change. Trees take in carbon dioxide which is a gas, and trees give oxygen into the air so we can breathe. When we cut down all the trees we are taking away oxygen that we need and releasing carbon dioxide from the trees into the air, which ruins our atmosphere.

Another reason that we shouldn’t cut down trees is because when we do, animals lose their homes. When this happens, animals can also sometimes die. They won’t have shelter and we could be taking away what they eat. If we don’t cut down the trees we won’t kill as many animals. If we continue to do this, we could affect all the food chains around the world! That would be bad. Also, how would you feel if someone destroyed your home? Probably not so good. It is very disrespectful to the animals because they are living things and what did they ever do to you?

Lastly, we shouldn’t cut down trees because they provide beauty in our world. Nature is such a pretty thing and we won’t want to take that away from people around the world. Being in nature can help reduce stress levels in humans. You might be wondering, “can’t people find another way to reduce stress?” This might be true but nature is proven to be the best!

I hope you have learned your lesson to never cut down trees because it can hurt the environment, kill innocent animals and destroys the beauty in the world. We need to save more trees now!

reflection

Persuasive Reflection I loved writing about why you should not cut down trees because it was fun writing about what I am passionate about. I also loved recording about this topic because it was not easy. It was difficult to write about, and where I should put it. It was also difficult to think of what to write next and punctuation was hard too.
