Rude Goldberg #3

For our second meeting we had a very short 40 minutes and we finished up to sketch we started. We also decided to add a pulley for our ending. This was a problem because we needed a high surface for the pulley and our set up was on the ground. To solve this problem we used legos to build a platform. This allowed us to put the pulley on a surface. I think so far we are on track to having a great Rude Goldberg Machine!

Rude Goldberg #2

For our first meeting we discussed what our final task would be and what steps there were. We started with a marble rolling down a tube which hits a domino which hits……  This was three hour meeting and we made a huge tower out of cups, blocks and dominoes. This would eventually be one of our steps. We also went to youtube and watched many Rude Goldberg ideas this helped us think and build our project. We also made a sketch draft that eventually turned into the sketch.

Rude Goldberg #1

At school, we started a project called Rude Goldberg. Rude Goldberg was a American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor. He is known for using different complex steps to result in a very simple task. We were allowed to work by ourselves or with up to three people. I first started with three partners but soon we realized we had different schedules and it wasn’t going to work. So we split into two and two. This allowed us to have more free dates and less arguing. For our project, there needs to be at least 8 different steps and the video can only be 5 minutes. Me and my partner, Ben have had 2 meeting and have finished our sketch.
