Book Clubs : Loser – Jot 1

Donald Zinkoff is a weird student because he does not notice everyone hates him, he just says “OK” or he just walks away. For example when he got an A on his test (he has bad grades) and everyone was congratulating him but he didn’t realize they were doing it because he was so dumb that he actually got a A.  Everyone else accept Donald has power. Donald does not have power because he is such a weird student that everyone tries to avoid him. For example when there has a field day (races) he was put on purple but the purples didn’t want him and when he went to another group they said “no”. This shows that Donald has no power in school.

Star Girl – Jot 1

I think star girl has lots of power because she does thinks that are totally different and everyone is entertained by it. For example about 15 people went to the football game but that game she has dancing and other many weird things. The next game 1000+ people came and at school the cheerleader captain asked star girl to be a cheerleader. Since she is so entertaining everyone looks forward to school! She also does not have any struggles because she is different but she does not notice it like when everyone stares a her she does not notice. I also think she is a school scam because the school wanted more people watching the football game so they could make money.

Jake and Lily – Jot 1

Jake is being pulled out toward the Death Rays (a group of bikers) because they were giving him stones (he has a collection of stones) so he thinks they are nice. I think that Death Rays are going to take Jake over and bully him. It is also possible, Jake is smart so he might pretend to be part of the Death Rays but he actually is still with Lily (sister). Lily is worried that Jake is not going to spend time with her and just spend all the time with the Death Rays. I think this is going to happen. I also would like to see her reaction if Jake is just pretending to spend time with the Death Rays. I think she could be touched because Lily might be so happy to know that Jake will always stay with her. However, She might be mad because she was so worried for Jake but all along he was just pretending. This shows many feeling can be expressed for what Jake does with the Death Rays.

Book Clubs: Donuthead – Jot 2

I think Sarah is going to be rough and physical during baseball games. I think this is true because Sarah will get physical when someone says something mean (trash talking) to her or donuthead. Sarah has to work on being calmer when things like that happen. On the other hand, I think it could just be a good thing because if she is like this in baseball games, she would stand up to people who are being bullied or any other reason.

Book Clubs: Donuthead – Jot 1

Donuthead is a control freak, for example when he is going somewhere he always want to find out what percentage there is for him to get cancer, to be suffocated. This is important because it is going to lead to bullying. This is going to happen because it is different to be a control freak and its weird. These people are the perfect target for bullies because they know they will be able to tease you about your difference.

Writing Strong and Long – Character

Michael is a computer whiz because he writes the best of the web which is tips for games and other things on the web. but he also wrote this story in the newspaper Lost and Found. Cara sees it and reads it it says:”When  I heard that my parents were getting divorced, the first thing I did was run up the my room and grab my baseball bat and crush all my little league trophies to bites” After Cara read this she had tears in her eyes but then it hit her that this was not fiction this was Micheal Morton’s own story.

Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Dinosaur Bones By David A. Adler

Cam has a photographic memory which means she can look at something and remember it. Cam and Eric are on a school field trip to the Kurt Daub Museum. She has been there already. They are having lunch. After a few more minutes their teacher, Ms. Benson tells them it’s time for the tour. While on the tour, Cam realized that there are three bones missing in the Dinosaur Exhibit.

After school ends, Cam and Eric go into the museum and hide in the Dinosaur Exhibit until the museum closes but while they wait, a guard comes over and finds. They get sent out of the museum and are about to get on their bikes to leave but they see a milk truck pass by and stop at the museum and the museum gives the milk truck a box. Cam then figures out that the milk brand was different than the one they drank at lunch.

So they follow the truck.  They follow the truck until they reach a house, they look inside from the window. They see that there is a man inside with the bones. Will Cam be able to stop him and his partner from stealing the bones or will they get away with it?
