We did a presentation with groups that had up to 5 to 4 people I had 5 people in my group.
First we had to figure out who had volcanoes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes.
The second step was to find the sub-topics for each person the sub-topics were cause, effect, prevention and safety, and how they’re measured.
My topic was volcanoes and my sub-topic was how are they measured.
The third step was research! All of us research for weeks and weeks, at first I messed up because I didn’t understand how my sub-topic worked but when we were in groups Ms.Rickard explained to me and it made much more sense, as soon as she explained me I got right to work with finding how volcanoes are measured. It was really fun but also really hard because in the start there wasn’t a lot of information but as I started gathering information I found more and more. And I found so much it would be perfect for my group’s presentation! But then I realized I had to show Ms.Rickard all the stuff and I thought I was finally done but I wasn’t I had to show Ms.Rickard all my research before I could move on. But thankfully Ms.Rickard said it was good and I could move on.
The fourth step was memorizing.
Memorizing was not too hard for me because i’m pretty good at memorizing I memorized the first slide in two days! the second slide took me the same amount of time.
The fifth step was to put all our text and pictures into the slides the only hard part I would say about this was finding the perfect pictures but the easy part was to put the text in. Once I put the text in I finally felt free because now I only had to practice memorizing and saying it.
The sixth step was to practice it with you groups my group had Val, Harrison, Me, and Sebastian it was fun practicing with my group we all got to listen to each other’s research. We did the presentation with each other for a couple of days till the presentation. We did perfect most of the time but not always.
Step seven presentation! On the presentation day all of us were super duper nerves once the parents arrived Ms.Rickard talked a little bit and Mr.Casal did to and then the first group came up the first group made it look so easy but when my group was it was so nerve racking but then it was my turn to speak I had to do the introduction I was super nerves I messed up a little bit because I didn’t say anyone’s name but mine but it was fine but after a few minutes it was my turn to speak again for my sub-topic I was really nerves again but I got through it and I did everything right! After all the presentations we gave hugs to our family members. I went right up to my dad and hugged him but the parents had to leave so we went to art.
But I am really happy with my presentation and I hope everyone liked it too!
I really like your text. I felt nervous too! Same thing with me i memorized my script fast too. It was not that hard for me to find the pictures. It was hard to find information about my topic too. Were you nervous when Mrs.Rickard checked your script? I really enjoyed reading your reflection on the ignite that our class did. And it’s fine if you mess up on your intro. You were amazing at the ignited talk!
