My book club is reading books by Rick Riordan. I read The Red Pyramid and focused mainly on social issues, below are a few that I found.

One social issue from my book, The Red Pyramid is death/loss one way that this is in my book is that the children named Sadie and Cater’s parents died so they are devastated. A way that this is the real world is many kids lose their parents in the wars so they too are devastated. Another way this is in the real world is people lose their parents from disease like cancer.

Another social issue in my book that is in the real world is wealth. It relates to my book because there is a man named Amos who owned a mansion that got destroyed. This exists in real life because there are people like Bill Gate who are very wealthy and also people like Carlos Slim who own enormous properties with giant structures and very successful businesses.
