Tech Week 3: Trusses

This week in Tech, we learned about trusses/triangles, and why they are so strong. We learned that triangle’s sides and angles can only change if one is changed. Therefore, unless the corners of a triangle’s angle change, the triangle’s strength is 100% reliant on the material it is made of, making it very strong when made from the correct materials. We eventually did a project to create a structure that can hold the most books with a structure made from toothpicks and carrots (I used fruit snacks). Mine was able to hold 3 books, although my gummies had a lot of holes in them and were weakened, so it wasn’t 100% fair. Nevertheless, the project was fun and not too difficult.
