I recently completed my Feature Article about Domestic Cats. It was a very interesting project and an exciting process. I researched a lot of things about Domestic Cats and learned a lot. Surprisingly, even though I know a lot about Domestic Cats, this project definitely expanded my learning. But it was pretty hard to come up with my topic and message. This was because I already knew much about cats so it was hard to decide.
My message was about showing how cats aren’t always scary and unlucky and teaching readers all about them. I came up with this message partially because of my experience. I know a lot of people who don’t like and are scared of cats. I also know, for example, there are myths about cats that they are bad luck. I just wanted to make a point that cats aren’t bad and teach people what they are really like.
A lot of the writing process was very challenging. But some specific parts were more enjoyable than others. For example, I think writing the Article was not too hard, but making the slide show for the article was challenging because we had to make it perfect, and it was hard to get the way it was visual to look good. I am proud of my process and what I’ve done till now, even if some parts were frustrating. I am most proud of my slides because it was so hard to make them look good. Some techniques I used were description and examples, which is basically adding onto a sentence or statement, and proving it as a fact. I also used descriptive language, for example, in the text it says: “Scientists found a cat cemetery in Beni-Hassan brimming with 300,000 cat mummies.”
