Capstone 1: Getting Started with Capstone

Capstone Blog post 1

A few weeks ago my teacher assigned a project called capstone. One of the final projects of the year. capstone is we have to come up with a topic I research and learn about it. I have been really excited to do Capstone ever since my sister did it.

When coming up with my topic I had already been thinking about it before we started the project. I wanted to do movie sets or animation. But before I got to choose what we were going to do, I filled out a document asking questions about certain things. This was supposed to help us figure out what the topic should be.  I already knew what I wanted to do. I chose movie sets because I loved to build and I liked movies so I thought it would be a great fit.

Next, we had to come up with the main inquiry question. The main inquiry question is supposed to be the main question we ask about the topic. We were handed another document about making questions about certain things. Such as design art and culture. My main inquiry question was How do production designers and set designers work together to create film sets and how do their roles compare? The main inquiry question was challenging because I kept coming up with questions but I wanted it to be about building then I found a question that looked interesting so I chose it.

After that, we had to come up with some sub questions. Sub questions are what we should ask to help us answer the main question. When coming up with my sub question I started by doing the basic ones such as What is a film set and What is a set designer. Some challenges were when I was searching for resources for my sub question. I didn’t find that many.

In conclusion, thinking back I have learned how to make questions and sub questions and I am proud of them.  So far this has been I great project and I am excited to see what else I have to do
