Adhesives

This week, I watched the adhesives Nearpod. In this Nearpod, I learned about adhesives(sticky things). Adhesives were first created 72,000 years ago to make stone paintings. Later, about 4,000 years ago, a form of adhesive was used in King Tut’s sarcophagus. I was very impressed by the Ancient Egyptian for making glue as I cannot imagine how to make glue using the tools that they had. Then 300 years ago, people used old horses to make glue, which I think is cruel. Then in 1918, people discovered how to make glue using milk, and as a fun fact, the logo for Elmer’s glue is a recognition of the cows. However, Elmer’s glue is now made from Polyvinyl Acetate. In fact, you can make glue from milk, baking soda, and vinegar(might want to try that sometime). In 1932, super glue and other stronger, sticker and waterproof. Overall, am awed by the progress we have made in 72,000 years in terms of adhesives.

I am so excited to learn more in technology class.
