The interview was for me to get more information to help me make a better project. This aspect of research was really exciting. It was exciting because I was going to interview someone that is an expert on AI robots. Finding a interview wasn’t easy. I had to go to a lot of different sites and I even went to some college sites to find some experts. In the end I chose a website that was about a project that three people founded. There was a special page for them so I clicked on that and saw their emails and so I contacted all of them and only one of them responded. I ended up choosing him. We talked back and forth and we agreed for me to send the questions in an email and he would send me the answers. The interview wasn’t that hard to do because I just had to send the questions but I am happy because he sent me some pretty detailed answers. overall conducting the interview was a very fun and educational experience.

Designing the Rube Goldberg was hard. I had to change  A LOT of steps along the way.  I also had to think about how to turn the on button with blocks and such. one time the block fell on the button but the charging strip didn’t  turn on and that was annoying. Making the Rube Goldberg was also fun. It kept on falling over and it would work on accident when we weren’t recording.  I learned a lot about simple machines and what they did. I think if I could go back and change something it would be to add more steps and to include more simple machines.  Overall making the Rube Goldberg was a really interesting experience.

My main question is:

How are AI robots designed so that they are not threatening to humans and in what ways can they be helpful?

I am curious about this because I think if AI robots were to meet children they would be scared of it because its like a piece of metal and it probably looks intimidating to  children. That is why I chose this question. My sub questions are:

What are AI robots?

What do scientists think AI robots can achieve in the future?

Can AI robots become dangerous and what threat could they pose?

Are there specialists that make AI robots look less intimidating and how do they do so?

What are some jobs AI robots can help with?

I am very excited to see what we will be doing next with capstone.

Rube Goldberg Blog Post One

The process of making the sketch was pretty hard. I had to come up with a plan and include some simple machines in my plan. I don’t really have a lot of items for my Rube Goldberg so it was hard making a plan.  A resource I  used was trueflix. It gave me a lot of information I needed to know and was really helpful. Something that was frustrating was the sketch. I had to do it over because I kept on wanting to change things and sometimes the sketch was to big or to small, but I finally came up with a sketch that I was satisfied with.

I think that making the we video was pretty hard. The thing that I found that was the hardest was definitely doing the voice over because it took so many tries. It was pretty fun putting the information I had into my we video and I am very happy with my overall results.  finding the right videos were kind of hard but i eventually found them and I think that I did a pretty good job. I think that I could maybe have added more information about my dad’s immigration journey. I also think that I could add more clips and make my video a bit longer. I enjoyed the process and if I were to change one thing it would be to have asked my interviewee more  questions so I could have made my video longer.

My interview meant a lot to me because learning about what my dad had to go through to live a life here inspires me to also work hard. All of the answers that he gave made me more and more interested in learning his life back when he was in China. The interview also opened my eyes to how hard you have to work to achieve your goals. In the interview I also learned a lot of things about him that i didn’t know about before. In the end I really enjoyed interviewing my dad and his immigration story

I found that the researching was hard because there were a lot a different sites and it took a lot of time to find a good  site that provided me with the information that i needed. I think that the 19th amendment is a very interesting topic and it interest me about women’s right back then.  The notes were fun to take and I think what motivated me was just the thought that I wouldn’t have all these rights if  all the amazing women back then fought for all the rights that I have today. And that is what motivated me.

I think that the electoral college is unfair because I think that the people in the U.S. should get to choose and not the Electoral College. I also think that it isn’t fair that if they don’t win the popularity vote that they can still be president I think that that isn’t fair.
