For identifying resources I searched on the web compassion projects on make up or just websites that have articles about make up. I mean I made sure that the resources with credible by seeing if their research was correct or not. I think the resources that will be most helpful are the videos on the data bases on the library website because videos can take you through the process and since the website is through the school it is a trusted resource. Some nonfiction reading skills I am trying to improve upon well I am learning about makeup are, reading more articles. This scale applies to videos in interviews because by reading an article you will know what questions to ask in an interview and you can check if the research is correct by watching a video about the same topic. Some note taking strategies that I have come up with our boxes and bullets, big question to  subquestions. I decided on these strategies because I find them easier to take notes and I have used them in the past.

The process for selecting my topic for the passion project was pretty simple.  At first  I thought,  I’m gonna do baking because I really like baking and I’ve been doing a lot of it since we’ve been home. But then I wasn’t really feeling too excited about it. So I decided to think of what topic I was really interested in and I decided on makeup because I like to put it on  and it’s really fun to play around with.I ended up with choosing make up because it’s it’s really interesting and you can just feel free well using it. Some of my research questions that I came up with are, Why has make up become a billion dollar intustry? How has it improved from the 1800’s?

Makeup

For my passion project I choose to do it on makeup. I have been passionate about makeup since I was a little girl. My friends and I used to put makeup on each other for fun. I would go in my mom’s room and use her makeup and try to look more mature. Since we’ve had so much free time, I have been watching makeup videos and playing around with different colors and creating cool new looks. My main inquiry question is has make up become a billion dollar industry.

Makeup is a billion dollar industry.  You can buy it at department stores or speciality stores. There are so many companies and all different price points.  

The most important pieces of makeup are foundation, mascara, concealer, eyeshadow and lipstick. They come in different fun colors and shades.  There are also many types of tools to apply makeup products.

Makeup can help you transform your look and add to your beauty.  By creating a new look, you can create a new you. You can use lighter colors for daytime looks and darker colors for night time looks. You can even change the shape of your eye to make it look bigger. 

Makeup has become very important, from teenage girls to women in today’s society. It’s a way for people to express and feel good about themselves. Everyone wants to look younger and makeup is a way to make that happen. The resource that I used is Kadriya Ghyasi’s passion project on makeup.
