Making my plan

In the past week in tech we have been making plans for our wood work. During this process we discussed some ideas of what we can make. Some of which include a mask holder, a phone stand, a picture frame and more. I decided to make a box that can hold many of my unorganized items. After choosing what we were going to make we needed to make a sketch. The sketch included a drawing of what you’re going to make, the measurement of each piece of wood, a list of tools and materials that you need to complete your project, and the process of how you will complete your project. This week I will start building my project and I can’t wait to see how it will turn out.

Exploring Wood

Recently in tech we started to play around with wood. I began to notice how wood works. If you break the piece of wood vertically it leaves a smooth cut, but if you break the wood horizontally it is very messy and you can easily get a splinter. Eventually we got to cut the wood with a small knife like saw. If you cut the wood vertically or horizontally it cut nice and smooth while if you cut the wood diagonally it was harder to cut and it took longer. Overall having never explored wood the way I did in class I think it was a good start to making things with wood.
