This week I made my first prototype of a catapult. Overall, I think it was a success. The design was like a trebuchet.
The little box on the right side of the arm is called a counterweight. It’s filled with weights so it’s much heavier than the left side. Because it’s so much heavier, the left side of the arm will get flung up really fast. I was able to make the catapult shoot about 3 feet. I think I will remake the model in wood for my final product.
