Final blog post 7th grade

I am really excited! English football (soccer) is returning the day after school ends. My favourite team, Tottenham Hotspur is playing a CRUCIAL game against Man U  next Friday. Tottenham’s two best players, Kane and Son are back from injury after the suspension of the season gave them time to recover and I hope they do well. I think we will win 3-2, with Kane grabbing a brace, Son scoring but Rashford putting in 2(Rashford is returning from injury for Man U.) Unfortunately, Dele Alli just got suspended for 1 game because of a breach of FA rules E3(1) and E3(2), and has also received a 63,000 dollars. Essentially he was punished for making an offensive joke to do with the corona that he sent to his friends, one of whom reported it to the FA. COYS! Come on you Spurs!

I think that we might not return to school in September, we could return but in E-learning format because classrooms are cramped and I don’t see the virus going away by that point, I think that it won’t be as bad but still a threat. However I do think that small road trips to go glamping or camping, and also drives to neighbouring states for a 4 day vacation so long as you don’t do much and relax by the beach would be fine. But that doesn’t mean that flying is a good idea and I don’t see being in a class room being fine by September.

Plastic stamps

I am seeing 5 items, as I only had five items in my material bin. I found items for each category but only 2 categories came from the material bin. There are 3 1s and 2 6s. I think that the 1s are being used because they are see through and strong and that the 6 is being used because it is cheap. 1 is not reusable but 6 is.

I am interested in what leads to some plastics being thermoplastic and some being thermoset. I think that it is really cool how some plastics cross link and some don’t. It makes it so that plastics have more uses because they can be shaped multiple times and they can be recycled but others can be heat proof.

Lumber industry

If a forest owner was not in the lumber business, I think they might make the forest a nature conservation area. They could also use it for science. But more likely it is for hunting. I would use it for nature conservation because it is good to have an untouched area for the animals to thrive.

Before technologies that we have now came along, workers would’ve had to hand cut the wood with big saws, and they could cut off their fingers, chop of their hands, or breath sawdust. Also they would have to hand cut the tree down which is hard and then get out the way. If I could I would invent a device that reversed moulding and faults in the wood to make it so that more products could be made out of fallen trees and less trees have to be cut down.

 

I think that that is very good that they protect nature and also I think they should replant 1.5 times the number of trees that they cut ( not including pre-fallen trees) so that the tree count rises and that would protect the area from global warming to an extent and it would make the region increasingly safe and good for the animals.

 

Why there are more boys speaking up in classes and more girls sending emails.

First of all, why more boys are speaking up than girls in class. I believe that it is because in choice, there are a lot of outgoing boys, most of them a very much so and there are more outgoing boys than outgoing girls and the outgoing boys are more so than the girls. This may also be the same in butler. And that would mean the opposite is true for emails, the people with questions would rather do it by email than by speaking in front of a class.

Building

Building things is when you construct something. It could be when you construct a tower of coins, or when you build a skyscraper. It doesn’t have a set size or shape, it is just when you put two or more physical objects together to make something else.

Very recently, I built a Lego model of a WW1 battle scene. I was very engaged and happy while building. I built it with my dad and brother. This is an image I just took of it:

On wednesday I finished the project!! After I got the furiating design done ✅, of course.  I actually started to get how to do it after a while and ended up finishing it after a while.

After that I had to do the cutting. The noise that saw made! But I did it no problemo.

Then I did the drill press. At first I was really nervous but it was easy in the end.

Finnaly, I curled the wires and made the circuit. It took a good bit of soldering 👨‍🏭 though. There was a faulty switch that I had to un-solder as well, so that was a bit annoying. But other than that, it was a fun and finished project!!

On Friday (I didn’t have time for 9) I finished something called my very own switch!! It wasn’t that hard, since I don’t care 🤷‍♂️ about fancie pancie decorations because they suck and the are too time 🕢 consuming. So I picked a simple piece of cardboard and got to work. I decided to make a “circle” ⭕️ switch. So I started by cutting a circle ⭕️ using a xacto knife. It was really blunt though. The I made a hole using a 🔨 and a cylinder in a piece of cardboard . Then I fitted a straw in the hole and put the circle ⭕️ ( which also had a hole) on the straw. Then I hot glued it together. I then added foil to the circle ⭕️ and the cardboard. I was done ✅!!
