Rube Goldberg #1 – Benefits of a Team

Our class is making Rube Goldberg machines. First let me explain to you what a Rube Goldberg machine is. A Rube Goldberg machine is a complicated machine that does something very simple. Our Rube Goldberg machine was required to have 8 different non repeating steps, for example we can’t have domino’s hit a ball and the ball hit more domino’s because each domino line would count as one step. We also have to have a detailed sketch, and we have to write six blog posts one of which you are reading.

I chose to work with my friends Manu, Henry, and PJ. We got around seven steps done in our first meeting . Then at our next meeting most of our steps fell apart and we had to start from our second step. But then we did a lot better the next time we met. We now have over 5 steps. One of the benefits of working in a group is you have more supplies and more space to create your Rube Goldberg project. For example Manu let us do it in his house and PJ brought a marble track and Henry brought domino’s and I brought a table, and domino’s, and hot wheels car tracks. Another good thing about working together is that you can have more brain power to come up with more ideas which means you could have more steps.
