Capstone Post #3 – Site Visit

Last Friday (5/29/2018) I went to the children’s museum in Westhartford Connecticut for my Capstone project. You may already know that my Capstone project is SpaceX vs. NASA to Mars. You may be wondering, “Why would you go to a children’s museum for your Capstone project?”. Well, I’ll answer that now. I went there because there was a Mars exhibit with lots of info explaining the history of people trying to get to Mars and the future of people getting to Mars, there were also pictures of space, which I found cool. I also learned that Mars has ice caps at both the northern and southern poles. I got lots of pictures for this blog post, but there are too many to fit on this one blog post, so I’ll put 2  in this one post. Take a look!

Field Trip to Ellis Island

Today (5/22/18) we went to Ellis Island to lean and look at stuff they had back then for immigration. I liked the boat ride to Ellis Island, it was smooth. I also liked looking at the old stuff they had on display, like the bags they had. I also liked being in the big hall. The people that were in my group were my mom, Ben, Ayyan, Will L., and Sam. Overall, I thought this field trip was cool to see!

5th Grade Restaurant Field Trip

Today (5/15) we went to a restaurant to learn spanish. We had to order food in spanish. I liked the bread and the salad. I tried the drink. It was very interesting to taste. Some people thought it was weird, but I didn’t think it was that bad. I think the butter was good with the bread, it gives it some flavor. I think you should try this restaurant!

Main Inquiry Question & Sub Questions

My main inquiry question is “How do the space plans of NASA and SpaceX compare when it comes to exploring Mars?”.  That’s my main inquiry question because I want to know what NASA and SpaceX’s plans are to get to/explore Mars. My sub questions are “What has NASA done to explore Mars?”, “What is NASA planning to explore Mars?”, “What has Space X done to explore Mars?”, “What is SpaceX planning to explore Mars?”, “Why is exploring Mars important?”, and “What are some challenges for traveling to/from and exploring Mars?”. I chose all those because they fit with my main question and topic. I also think that those questions are something that will help with my topic when I research for my topic.
