Maglev#2

For our improvements on my groups train we added 2 more strip magnets on both sides on the train tracks. For the bottom of the train we added a strip magnet on the front and not on the sides because there was a magnet on a wall in front so the magnet on the in the front of the train would stop moving because it would repel. We also added 2 strip magnets on the bottom of the train. For the train to be stable and to not shoot off we needed to put a wall on the sides of the train. The walls also aline the train and the track so it levitates.

On our first try the train worked. At that time two people in our group went to maglev class ,but I didn’t know that at the time and now I know and I think if those two people didn’t go to maglev class, we would have failed. I noticed that when you put magnets on the bottom of the train nothing happened because it adds more weight to the train so we then added the magnets to the track instead of the train because we needed the train levitate higher so it could hold more weight. We needed strength but not weight so that’s why we layered the magnets on the track.

From that maglev train experience I learned how to be an even better teammate and I became a hard worker. I also learned a lot about maglev trains and magnets. I am glad to have this fun and great experience of maglev trains.
