Rube Goldberg Blog Post #1

My Rube Goldberg has been fun and challenging. One thing that was challenging was setting up the actual Rube Goldberg. Although I haven’t finished, it’s still very challenging. Another challenging part of the actual Rube Goldberg is the dominos. It kept on falling down, and I at least had to redo it 100 times! One fun thing during this project is designing it and figuring out what you want to add and remove from it. The reason I liked so much is because it was creative and it was free. So far in my Rube Goldberg I have done half of it.

My prediction is that it is gonna take 29 tries. Another fun thing was making most of the steps, I didn’t have most of the things I needed but I made most of the things that you can make, but I still had to get a couple things like a race car, a small car, a rope, and a hook. During the process I sketched a lot of ideas, I also brainstormed a lot. I came up with 3 big ideas and 5 simple tasks. Eventually it took me 2 days to decide.

My final simple task is putting a laundry ball into a laundry basket. After I finished sketching it I made a shopping list so I would know what to get and if we have it or not. Some thing we had to improvise. Like instead of a real rope, we used a rope to a jump rope. We did the same with other stuff too. I am gonna use 3 simple machines, A wheel and axle (The race car), An incline plane ( I made it with a table that’s gonna be at an incline), and A lever made out of lacrosse sticks. My favorite out of all of them is the lever or inclined plane because I made it myself. I thought it was fun creating it. Overall I think this project is fun and I thought it’s very creative and I liked how you could add whatever you wanted to it. This is one of my favorite projects! I am very excited to see the end product.
