Day 10: Dorothy Visits Mr. Delmonaco’s Room!

Dear Mr. Delmonaco’s class,

When we met Dorothy, she was complaining that her feet were killing her. She dreamt about going to Nordstroms to buy comfortable shoes. She thought about going to the Westchester Mall, because she knew that Nordstroms had many nice shoes. However, Nordstroms shoes are very expensive. She only had $50 and the shoes were $109.95. Dorothy needed $59.95 more. Maybe she could sell her old shoes. She found someone who bought her shoes for $80.95. Since there was no yellow brick road to follow, she was lost in Westchester, barefooted. The Good Witch appeared and directed her to Nordstroms in the Westchester Mall. Dorothy finally bought her shoes and had $21.00 left over. That would be enough money for a hot chocolate at Starbucks. While she was heading to Starbucks, she passed the Apple Store. She asked if she could trade in her iPhone 6 for the latest model. Dorothy realized she did not have enough money for a new phone. She was disappointed that she could not get the phone and made her way to Starbucks. She bought a hot white chocolate and a chocolate croissant for $6.20. Dorothy thought to herself, “Boy, this is expensive, I’m not in Kansas anymore.”  Now she still had $14.80 in her bag and bought Toto a leash for $10.00. Four dollars and eighty cents was left over. She woke up and realized she was still in the land of Oz.
