It’s kind of like slime.
Wow,I totally agree with you. Did you ever make slime that color?
yeah I did
it may taste bad so yeah
I think it’s amazing how sticky rice turns into soft, smooth, chewy mochi.
I had no idea how they turned sticky rice to mochi
SMASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I can tell you loved this story too! What did you like about it?
I thought it was really cool how the people smashed the mochi
Yeah, that was cool. Smashing a hammer into rice is awesome.
They must have trained hard to smash the mochi correctly.
yeah they did
how yummy is it??
SMASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SMASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE SMASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear kmazza, what part of the guys smashing the mochi did you like?
all of them
๐
The Mochi person seem’s more like a karate guy instead of a mochi master.
I know right!
I agree. He smashed that mochi pretty hard.
well if it is yummy then thats good but if it tastes bad im not eating it
I think that is amazing. I would never want to do that though for a living. I would be nervous that the guy who is pounding would crush my hand or finger.
they should have a day called flat finger day
I would be nervous about that, to. Moving your hand onto a hammers’ target seems like a bad idea.
Sorry, I ment to say “too”.
In the video we watched no one got hurt, so I think they were probably counting in japanese
Good point. Though he said you really just need to trust the guys who is pounding. If you pound one second off there goes your finger…
It’s kind of like slime when they make it!
The video was intriguing and I learned a lot about the art of mochi pounding and why the person in the video likes to do it.
What did you learn?
I think mochi looks hard to make. I also think the color of the mochi looked cool.
yeah it looks kinda violent , but I liked the color too!
me too
It looks sticky, but good. (it is).
Great idea!!!! What else do you like about Mochi?
I’m totally going to try mochi
hi margot,
I have never had mochi what does it taste like.
hi! it depends on which flavor you want. there’s a lot of flavors.
i always get my hands sticky when i eat mochi.
I am going to go to Japan to eat mochi. And to watch the guy make it.
Mochi is a japanese food, and the most impressive thing about making it is how fast you have to be to make it perfect.
I agree with you. You do have to do your very best and be careful because it might be dangerous.
Also i would not want to eat it because the mochi master puts his bear hands in the mix. Then they eat it. It also looks very slimey and mushy.
then how would they make it if they did not touch it?
have you tried mochi cause its actually pretty good
I think he washes his hands… If not i’m with you…
I think you have to be really fast, and have lots of skill to do that.
For sure they probolay need a lot of traning to do that
I agree the mochi master has really fast hands!!!
They must be very strong! ( like me :D)
gotta have a lot of skills to do that!
its amazing how fast they smash the Mochi!
I agree
How did they turn the mochigome green?!?!?!?!?!!??!!!!
I think they used food coloring?
I have tasted similar food called duck in Korea
it is delicious๐.
Do mean duck as in the bird or something else?
Me too.๐
I really want to taste it!
what I think impressive though is that he can pound it 3 times second. That’s like SUPER fast.
Also in the video to answer your question i think the mochi is sticky rice.
Monchi is food made in Japan
What do you like about Monchi?
I liked how they pounded monchi
could you crush your fingers with the hammer?
YEAH !!!!!!!
When I was in pre-school here in america, we made mochi in January. We made this for a special holiday(new years). I got to try holding the wooden pounding stick and it was very heavy so my teacher helped me pound it.
cool ! Was the mochi also green ?
I don’t think it was green. The reason it is green is because its probably macha flavor. But the one i made at my preschool had no flavor.
okay! thanks for answering me !
Wow! Was that fun? I also have the same question as Margot, was the mochi also green or was it a different color.
Wow did you really make it? but it looks so hard!!!!! Did you have your own teacher for making it?
Also, how do you make the green stuff?
Wow! How did you make it?
I experienced making mochi in kindergarten. In japan every kindergartener get to experience making it.
You did the same thing as Ayaka ! Did you think it was hard ?
it was really hard so i had help from my teacher.
Mochi is a Japanese food. I think it it cool how they hit the Mochi.
The pounding guy might smash fingers with the hammer.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mochi is a soft and chewy food. the most inpressive thing is when they smash it.
I think that too.๐
i never tasted this Japanese food but it look good and now i really want to go to japan.
I have never tasted this Japanese food mochi I wounder how mochi taste like.
it has a lot of flavors and it is very gooey
How long do you guys think they train to smash the mochi
